Data Point Installation Donvale

When upgrading your home Wi-Fi, the location of your data and access points makes a big difference to its performance. WP Electrical's team recently helped this Donvale homeowner to prepare their network for a new Wi-Fi setup by installing three new data points to support Ubiquiti storage points.

Installing Three New Data Points

This Donvale homeowner wanted to improve their home network and needed extra data points to connect two additional Ubiquiti storage discs. They also wanted to install a third data point for any future upgrades.

Our qualified electricians installed three data points in high-traffic locations around the house:

• Dining Room: Our team used existing cabling to install a Ubiquiti disc.
• Outside the Kitchen: We ran a data cable through the external wall using the existing Cat5 cabling route to provide a connection point for another access point. We had to drill into the wall from the outside.
• Garage To Upstairs Area: We also ran a data cable from the garage to upstairs, using accessible roof spaces to route the cable through.

The third and final data point was installed in the garden for a future storage disc, allowing the homeowner to expand their Wi-Fi coverage when they're ready.

Testing the New Data Points

Once the installation was completed, our electricians tested all three data points to confirm they were working correctly. With the new connections safely in place, the homeowner had the cabling infrastructure needed for their updated Wi-Fi setup, plus an additional connection point ready for any future expansions.
